Can a CT scan detect clogged arteries?

My doctor suspects that I have clogged arteries and suggested to have CT scan. Can a CT scan detect clogged arteries?

If properly done...Yes
A special type of CT scan known as a CTA which uses IV injected X ray dye material prior to the CT scan is useful for evaluating blocked or narrowed arteries.

Yes, particularly when it is performed with specific timing and higher contrast flow rates. This called CTA or CT angiography.
Only with IV contrast and a CTA, angiogram.
