Floaters will not go away but will become less noticeable over time.
Yes
They can slowly improve over time, but truly never go away. The brain has a nice mechanism to make you stop seeing the floaters over time. The concern is that if you have floaters, you could also potentially have a retinal tear that could turn into a retinal detachment. You should see a local ophthalmologist to be safe.
There are many possible causes for floaters, some of which are benign while others are emergencies. If you are experiencing a new onset of floaters, you should be examined urgently by an eye care professional. For most benign causes of floaters, these typically do not go away. Rather one sees them intermittently. Any increase, however, warrants urgent evaluation.
Typically, floaters resolve over several months.

The most important thing, is to have an eye exam. To make sure there is no associated problems inside the eye. If it is just a floater, than your brain will get use to it and will learn to ignore it. Depending on what caused a floater it may go away
Vitreous floaters can be highly variable. Sometimes they are transient, sometimes they can be long-lasting. One precaution however, if you all of a sudden have a drastic increase in floaters such as 100 or so, then you should go see an eye doctor as soon as possible. This could mean a possible retinal tear or detachment. However, most floaters are very benign and are very common. Sometimes, after cataract surgery, I will occasionally laser floaters if they become very bothersome to a patient.
Sometimes but have your eyes checked
Hello,
Generally floaters do not physically 'go away', but with time the symptoms can improve due to the fading of the shadow given off by the floater and a phenomena called 'neuro-adaptation'
