Ophthalmologist Questions Eye care

Can eyesight be improved naturally?

My son is 7 years old, and already needs to have glasses. Are there ways to help him improve his eyesight naturally? Like certain foods?

No
Your son should have a good nutritious diet. He should be evaluated by an ophthalmologist. She will discuss the reason for the need for glasses (such as nearsightedness or astigmatism) and the ways to improve your sons's vision. In general, outside of a healthy diet and eye protection, there is no "natural organic" process to treat eye concerns.
Great question! There is a scarcity of research on this (Nobody is making money selling food for vision). Some things proven to prevent myopia are getting natural sunlight and cutting down on near work like screen time, reading, etc.
The good news about your son needing glasses, is that indicates he is under professional eye care, in which case you may depend that if there were an underlying medical, nutritional or other factor impairing his vision that this would likely have been detected in the course of his examination. There are some cases in which vision and eye health may be improved “naturally,” but there is no single recommendation for all, and some recommendations which may be beneficial to some may be harmful to others. Ideally, you have engaged in a physician-patient relationship with an eye care professional who is ready to respond to these questions and offer you the proper recommendations for your child.
Not really!
Unfortunately not.
