Anesthesiologist Questions Carpal Tunnel Surgery

Can I drink alcohol after local anesthesia?

I'm going to have carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand with local anesthesia. But the surgery just so happens to fall on my friend's birthday. I think I'll be fine to go out with them, as long as my wrist is in a splint. But is it okay for me to drink after local anesthesia?

Reschedule the surgery, or don't drink. This is advice for any surgery, not just because of the anesthesia.
I would not drink excessively after any kind of surgery. If it is only under local anesthesia, as long as you are not taking any pain medications, you could have a drink or 2. If you have any intravenous sedation, general anesthesia, or you are taking pain medications, then you should not drink at all.
Yes. That should be no problem. In moderation, of course!!
