Can plastic surgery remove burn scars?

I am a 24 year old male. I want to remove burn scars on my face. Can plastic surgery remove burn scars?

Scars generally cannot be removed, but can often be improved to be less obvious. This will depend on the size and location of the scars.

Microneedling, lasers and derabrasion are all procedures that can improve scaring. A consultation is the best way to determine which is a fit for you.
Generally, yes. Size and location of the scar need to be looked at. If small, an excision and closure may be done. The closure will show a linear "scar" that is cosmetically not as "obvious" Also, one's age is important. Older patients have looser skin that also don't scar as much -- less collagen. Sometimes a full thickness skin graft taken from the neck may be applicable. Sometimes a skin expander may be applicable to obtain more skin prior to obtain more skin. Nevertheless, there will be post op "scars" -- only less noticeable. There are other choices. The plastic surgeon needs to see the patient.
Thanks for your question. There are many ways to improve the appearance of scars on the face, including burn scars. The treatments vary widely, however, based on the location, age, and additional factors about the scars. In-person consultation is required to develop a management plan.

Best of luck,
