Can teething cause a sore throat?

My 1 year old son is teething and seems to have a sore throat. Can teething cause a sore throat?

Not usually a sore throat, but definitely sore gums. Pay attention to where the pain is, you might find that it is the gums that are bothering him and he may need teething toys, a gum massage, or acetaminophen to ease the pain.
Not really. Only discomfort over the gum where the tooth is erupting.
Usually not. He could be cutting 1 year molars which are in the back and could make it seems like the throat is hurting.
