Can you eat before an epidural?

I am a 32 year old female. I wonder if you can eat before an epidural?

You should not have food for 6 hours prior to your procedure.
Depending on why you are having the epidural. Since you will be awake and will not be sedated, the answer is yes. However, it is best to check with the provider administering the epidural.  
Most people will say no. Clear liquids are allowed though
It depends what it is done for. If it's for pregnancy regular delivery, then yes. If caesarian section, then no. If epidural is done for any type of surgery, you cannot eat.

An epidural is anesthesia. And you must be fasting. At least 6 hours before.
