I am a 53 year old male. I want to know if I can you floss between a bridge?

You can still floss normally between a bridge and the neighboring teeth. Flossing underneath a bridge requires slightly more effort, but is absolutely necessary if you wish to have the bridge last as long as possible. There are commercially available floss threaders that will allow you to pass dental floss underneath the bridge so you can squeegee the underside and remove trapped food debris. The method I recommend most often to my patients is to use a water flosser once or twice a day prior to bedtime. There are several brands available, the most commonly available is Waterpik.

Yes you should be flossing under your bridge to keep that area clean and the adjacent teeth healthy. There are a few products on the market that helps you to be able to do that- one is a bridge aid- it looks like a small sewing needle that you can thread the floss through and use that to thread the floss under the bridge. Another good product is super floss- you can usually thread that under a bridge to help clean under there. Lastly there’s the waterpik which uses water pressure to clean under the bridge. Good luck!
You should be able to floss between a bridge if you have the correct aids to do so. Often, there is a missing tooth so there is an easier gap to negotiate, but sometimes your natural teeth are connected together. No matter, it is still important to floss or use a WATERPIK to remove accumulated food and plaque to maintain healthy gums and prevent decay. There is a myriad of aids available in most drug stores such as: Superfloss which can be threaded under a bridge as well as used to floss natural teeth; Proxabrushes made by Gum, Oral B, TePee and other companies come in various sizes and configurations and can be used to clean under bridges as well as between your natural teeth; Soft Picks are flexible, rubbery, serrated tooth picks which are thin and will not stab your tissue, but will clean around your teeth and bridges; There are also floss threaders, which I have heard are now hard to find in stores but may be available through your dental provider. The Waterpik or electronic flosser might be the best choice for anyone with poor dexterity. These aids are also suitable to use around dental implants.

While you cannot actually pass floss through the teeth in the middle of a bridge, there are plenty of devices that you can use to floss underneath it. And, of course, you can floss through the front and back teeth of the bridge. As for the devices, there are floss threaders and so called "super-floss," that allow you to pull floss underneath the bridge. These are inexpensive, but may take some time to learn how to use them effectively. There are also, special brushes called "proxabrushes," that loos like small bottle brushes. These allow you to brush under your bridge. And, finally I strongly recommend the use of a sonic tooth brush. Recently, Waterpik has introduced the "Sonic Fusion" tooth brush which combines the sonic brush with a spray of water that shoots underneath the bridge. Yes and it’s essential to clean and maintain the area under a bridge to prevent cavities and gum disease. A dental bridge is used to replace a missing tooth. The two teeth on either side of the space are used as supports, and the bridge, usually 3 teeth (2 supports and one replacement) are cemented into place. The three teeth are all connected making traditional flossing difficult. You should still be able to floss normally in front of and behind the bridge. In the area of the replacement tooth you will need to use a floss threader. A threader is a slender flexible piece of plastic that helps you pass the floss under the false tooth, then you may floss under the bridge. Take care to clean under the false tooth as well as where it connects to your natural teeth. If you are unsure if you are doing it correctly, then ask your dentist or hygenist to demonstrate.

No, you can’t floss between a bridge because the teeth are all fused together with a bridge. You can floss in front of the bridge and behind it but to clean the in between part you have to use a floss threader or super floss which you can buy at a pharmacy or the dental section in a Target, Walmart, etc. You thread the floss under the bridge!
No, usually with a conventional bridge the floss is blocked by the connected porcelain. The best way to clean under your bridge is with floss threaders, or super floss. I also highly recommens a water pic device.

Good for your for wanting to floss with a bridge. Having a bridge does change the way you have to floss a little. You cannot floss between the teeth on a bridge as they are connected on the sides. You can, however, floss underneath the bridge and they make specific floss threaders for this. It is a little plastic piece with an eye loop. You tie the floss to the eye loop and now the floss will slide under the bridge.
