Can you take anti-anxiety medicine while overweight?

I am a 26 year old female who is overweight and also takes anti-anxiety medication. I work from home but still suffer from anxiety when I go out in public. Is it safe to be taking anti-anxiety medication while overweight? I don't want to stop taking my medication or I fear I won't leave the house.

Overweight people can take antianxiety medication. Of course, you want to have a physical check-up to be sure there are no underlying medical conditions. Also, you should consider psychotherapy along with the medication.
Some anti-anxiety meds have a side effect of weight gain so that' something that should be considered. It also depends on the nature of the condition being treated.
It is surely safe to take your medication.
Yes, you should, but with MD supervision.
There is no conflict with regard to weight and anti-anxiety med except that some can have adverse effect of increasing appetite. If you are still having anxiety when you go out you should consider trying another. JLU
