Can you talk during an MRI?

I am a 55 year old female. I will have an MRI scan next week. Can you talk during an MRI?

The mri technologists will guide you through the exam. Listen to their directions. Motion degraded the exam. Even talking while the machine is generating images will degrade the exam. The motion of talking will effect the imaging quality. You want the best imaging quality for the best exam and correct diagnosis. Do not move during the exam to your best of your ability. If you need to talk or if something is wrong. No worries, the MRI technologist may have to repeat a portion of the exam to improve the quality.
No, only when the tech talks to you. There is a panic button, but if you push it, it just prolongs the test.
MRI allows for seeing very good details of the anatomy, but in order to do so, the patient must remain very still. Talking will degrade the quality of the scan and is not recommended.
Yes, but the body part being examined should remain motionless, otherwise you get artifact. There is a microphone and panic button you can push and talk if you need to, but I would man up or woman up and keep my mouth shut if I were you.
