Do doctors put patients to sleep for oral surgeries?

I am scared of anesthesia, but I need oral surgery soon. Do doctors put patients to sleep for oral surgeries?

Yes, although a local anesthesia may still be an option for patients that would rather NOT be put to sleep. You should discuss this with your surgeon at your consult after reviewing how extensive (or not) your surgery will be.
Some oral surgery procedures have to be pre-approved by your insurance company. If it is an emergency situation, your insurance has contact numbers. Some oral surgeons have consults before any work is done. If you want to be put to sleep, discuss it. If you have insurance, your insurance company may have the oral surgeon's staff tell you that you have a co pay. This is the part you have to pay before the procedure is done. This is your dental insurance company's rules.
