“Do oral cysts go away?”
I am a 24 year old female and I have an oral cyst. Do oral cysts go away?

Hello,
Sorry to hear about your oral cyst. Unfortunately, they do not go away on their own. They need to be removed by an oral surgeon. Oral cysts are formed like cysts of any part of your body. They come from embryonic cells (cells that get left behind when you are a developing embryo). Because these cells are from when you are developing they tend to divide and grow nicely. This complicates things a little because it means the cyst can reoccur after removal.
Hope this helps.
