Anesthesiologist Questions Anesthesiologist

Do they put you to sleep for ankle surgery?

I am a 39 year old female. I want to know if they put you to sleep for ankle surgery?

Most of the time, it is easier to be asleep for that kind of procedure.
General Anesthesia is an option. This most likely won’t require a breathing tube but an alternative device (LMA) that’s lets you breath on your own. My personal choice would be a spinal anesthetic if there are no contraindications. For a bigger procedure on your ankle a nerve block may also be indicated. This would help with pain after surgery.

BTW is this real? Are you a real person?
There are a few ways to do this:

* general anesthesia
* spinal anesthesia
* nerve blocks

It all depends upon the specific surgery, surgeon, and anesthesiologist taking care of you. You do have a choice typically.

It's optional depending on the procedure but it's possible to do sedation and nerve blocks
Ankle surgery could be done under regional anesthesia..spinal block..or geta.
