Does a sinus x-ray show infection?

I am a 42 year old male. I will have a sinus x-ray. Does a sinus x-ray show infection?

Yes, but CT scan is a better modality to see sinus infection...
Yes. Usually presents as a fluid level within one or more paranasal sinuses. This, in conjunction with patient symptoms, makes the diagnosis.
Sinus x-rays are generally performed to detect "air-fluid levels" or opacification in one or more sinus cavities in patients suspected of sinus infection, or following facial trauma. Opacification or fluid levels would indicate the presence of infection in the proper clinical setting.

It can. It's a minimal and inexpensive screening tool. If significant sinus issues, a Sinus CT is the way to go.

All the best.
It can if you have sever sinusitis. A CT of the face is more sensitive.
