Stretching helps most muscular skeletal issues.
Absolutely! But to know what are the most advantageous stretches to perform, one must ascertain where exactly the impingement is occurring. To do so, a physician must have the proper knowledge, training and experience to perform the most detailed examination as possible so that a short term treatment plan along with a long term management plan can be provided to the patient with 100% confidence that the impingement not only will be resolved in the shortest amount of time as possible but more importantly, taking the necessary measures to prevent it from ever recurring again.
Hi!

Yes, definitely as long as cervical involvement is ruled out. Be sure to be checked out by a good chiropractor!

Jesus loves you and so does Dr. Jim!
Yes, stretching can help with a shoulder impingement. Due to the inflammation and usual tendonitis associated with the impingement it is best to see a professional doctor well versed in sports related injuries who can instruct you with proper stretching techniques and the muscles to stretch to avoid further injury and improve your healing time. Be patient and do not rush the process of resting from aggravating activities and gently stretching!

Yes, stretching and strengthening the appropriate muscles/structures is the best way to treat shoulder impingement. I recommend going to a Sports Chiropractor to evaluate which structures of the shoulder are involved and give you the best treatment plan for your shoulder.
If the cause of the shoulder impingement is due to a tight muscle only, then yes, stretching will help, however, if it is a structural issue, or there has been damage, you may need to see a chiropractor!
