Optometrist Questions Eye Infections

Are there any drops to keep my eyes clear of infections?

Are there any eye drops available to keep my eyes clear and free from any kind of infections? During the spring, I feel like my eyes are more sensitive than they would be usually.

Proper lid hygiene will keep your eyes free from infections. Clean the lids two times per day with a eyelid cleanser. Wash your hands before touching the eyelid area.
You may suffer from allergies and not infections. Similar symptoms but tráteles differently. Try over the counter eye allergy remedies ans artificial tears as well. If not better please visit your optometrist for further care.
I would recommend Avenova spray every night.
The market is flooded with OTC drops for many different reasons, but none are really preventive, they are more geared towards symptoms. Prescription-strength drops also tend to be used when signs/symptoms arise.

I believe you have dry eye syndrome. SYSTANE COMPLETE is good for you
For infections you would need antibiotic drops. These are prescription only. But if you only notice discomfort during springtime could be allergies and not infections. There are over the counter anti-allergy eye drops.
Not at the present time.
You can use anti allergy eye drops for allergic conjunctivitis
Use anti infective drugs in any form ONLY AFTER AN INFECTION HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED. Using unnecessary antibiotics builds resistance in Bacteria and leads to drug ineffectiveness.
