Gastroenterologist Questions Digestive System

Can take-out food cause my digestive system to collapse?

I order a lot of take out food, but I know that this sort of food has very harmful effects. Can it weaken my digestive system?

Hi there, the types of foods we consume have a direct effect on our digestive system. If your daily food choices lack fiber, fruits, vegetables, whole grains and are high in saturated fat, cholesterol, additives, salt, then, yes they can have a negative effect on your digestive system.
YES!!!!! Start using raw fresh ingredients to make your own meals! So much healthier, tastier, and way more fun to eat. Cooking is like making love! It's best when you are involved and taking your time!
No, there is no such thing as a collapse of your GI system. Take out food does not weaken your digestive system. Take out food that is high in fat, carbohydrates, salt and processed ingredients will do damage to the rest of your body over time. The GI tract remains remarkably well preserved despite all of the bad food we tend to ingest in the US. But our other organs
(heart, kidneys, arteries, brain, etc.) will suffer the consequences. Eat healthy, don't overeat, and exercise regularly. This equates with general good health and longevity.
If the food you’re eating is not healthy then it can cause digestive problems.
