I have bruises on my left leg since I hit it a while ago. But, I think that they last for too long now as it's been 4 months. For how long should bruises last?

A bruise goes through various stages from the first redness to swelling and resolution. This normally takes about 2-3 weeks depending on the place and the force that caused the bruise. The 2-3 week bruise would be a light force bruise, while deeper bruises could take 2, 3 or even 4 months to resolve. Many bruises leave a kind of scar that can be visible for many months and longer. If you have a bruise that worries you, it could be a sign of a bleeding disorder that you should have checked.
