Neurologist Questions Headaches

My sister is having a lot of headaches that aren't subsiding with any medicine. What should we do?

My sister is suffering from intense headaches and she is just 13. They also do not subside in spite of all the medication we're giving her. We are not understanding what the problem could be. Could this be serious? What other ways can we manage it?

There are many kinds of headaches. She needs a neurologist to sort this out & get her on the right medicines. Good Luck!
If there's a family history of headaches, this could be the beginning of migraine headaches. This does also coincide with young women getting their cycles for the first time- if there's no family history, I would suggest seeing a neurologist for evaluation.
If she has not seen a neurologist yet I suggest she does so. Neurologists are familiar with some treatment options that many family docs do not.
It could be a serious issue, but it could also be as simple as (Medication Rebound Headaches). And this is a relatively common complication when the person with headaches retakes medication soon as the effects of the medicine they used weans off (ends). The treatment is to stop the medication and the rebound headaches will likely stop.
Neurological examination and work up is strongly advised when dealing with any headaches, especially refractory ones.

Advise that she sees neurologist asap.

It could be chronic migraines. Need to see a neurologist for appropriate management.
