My father is 80 years old and is partially deaf. We are looking to get him a hearing aid. What hearing aids would you suggest considering his age and hearing condition?

That depends on how bad the hearing is and whether both ears are affected, as well as what his level of motivation is to hear better. Relatives of older hearing impaired patients often want them to wear hearing aids, but unless the patient wants it, it won't happen. A major reason so many hearing aids wind up in dresser drawers.
Hearing aids are very important, especially for a persons quality of life. While as an ENT we are experts on ear related problems, this is a better question for the audiologist (the person who gave the hearing test).
Hello,
There is no one standard answer. I would suggest visiting ENT physician and speaking with a Hearing Instrument Specialist in their office. Thank you.

Typically, we have patients get an audiogram by the audiologist and, depending upon the hearing loss, we recommend hearing aids that we are able to dispense here in the practice.

Depending on the type of hearing and understanding he has, there are several options. Most likely a behind the ear aid since it is easier for an older patient to remove and put back in. Plus it can provide more power. this would depend on his type of hearing loss and the amount of understanding he has left.
I really don’t have any specific recommendation regarding a hearing aid. Audiologists usually handle the different type of brands of hearing aids. ENT is more involved with deciding when a hearing aid is necessary. Most base models of all brands are very efficient and functional.
Professional hearing testing should be reviewed by a clinician prior to consideration of hearing devices to rule out any other problems. Many different hearing devices can be offered but the decision rests upon the review of the results of hearing testing.
Need a hearing test to find whst kind of loses he has and find a proper hearing aid to be tuned to his needs. He will need to see an ENY specialist for that
