Cough syrups like Sudafed work well. But if she has other symptoms like fever or difficulty breathing, I would have her checked out by her doctor.

It is crucial that the *cause* of the cough be identified, rather than just focusing on trying to stop it. See your pediatrician to identify the cause, and provide appropriate treatment recommendations.
