Great oral hygiene.
Visit your dentist, periodontal disease is a big deal, so is gingivitis. Invest in yourself, before you wreck yourself.
You can use warm salt water. But the best thing is to a get a cleaning to clean areas under gum line they can also give you an antibiotic rinse to use that will help.
Swollen gums are usually a sign of some kind of infection. It is caused by bacteria and in its mild form it is known as Gingivitis. This can be treated at home by daily brushing and flossing at least twice a day. You may have a more advanced form of the condition known as periodontitis. This condition cannot be treated at home and will require a professional cleaning by a Dental Hygienist. I highly suggest that you see your dentist ASAP to evaluate your situation.
You most likely will not be able to treat this at home, but a simple dental cleaning should correct the situation
You cannot treat them at home yourself if you do not know why they are swollen. Could be any one of several possibilities. Guessing wrong could have devastating consequences.

You can't effectively. You first have to establish the cause, which can only be determined by a dentist.
Sometimes it is not possible to treat at home. You will need a professional cleaning to remove the calculus below the gum line, then regular flossing and brushing. Other types of medical problems and medications can also cause swollen and bleeding gums. Your dentist can go over those things with you.
