“How dangerous is exploratory surgery for kids?”
My son has mysterious abdominal pain, and the doctors cannot pinpoint the cause at all. His doctor wants to perform an exploratory surgery to see if it's an infection. Is this a dangerous procedure?

Make sure he has a CT scan of abdomen and pelvis and a UGI, as well as a colonoscopy.
I don't know where you are located, but if you are in the hands of a Board Certified Pediatric Surgeon, then you should be fine.
