How do you clean teeth with implants?

I am a 37 year old female and I will get a dental implant. How do you clean teeth with implants?

Floss and water pick
The same way you do with your regular teeth. Brush, floss, and rinse. In the case of a molar implant, make sure to "hug" around the implant because the shape is different than around regular roots, since the implant is like a single root and molars are multi-rooted.

Implants not taken care of can become infected with gum disease. Just like your natural teeth your implant must be be cleaned daily. There are special cleaning devices to clean your implant and not scratch the implant. You must know the importance of flossing your natural teeth correctly and brushing your teeth correctly daily. I have seen patients who have implants and are not taking care of them. They are not flossing and brushing their natural teeth either.

There is only so much natural bone structure and even with bone matrix material your body may not be able to heal the way it did. With your
implant your denition is being restored. You know or have learned how to floss correctly and brush correctly daily and ask your dentist where you can buy the special cleaning devices for implants. You will clean your teeth flossing first and brushing correctly daily. When it comes to your implant you will use the special cleaning devices for your implant.
