Physical Therapist Questions Physical Therapy

How does physical therapy help sports injuries?

My son twisted his ankle badly while playing soccer and he's not walking the same way. Do you think he should go to physical therapy to help his ankle?

Hello sir. Yes physical therapy will help as it will strengthen the muscles and provide physical and functional exercises to meet the goals of the treatment after the assessment
Absolutely! PT will make your son feel better, will properly manage pain and swelling and will make sure he doesn't compensate in a way that could lead to additional injury.
Yes
Yes, your son will benefit from physical therapy. Your physical therapist will perform a thorough physical examination to determine the need and what impairments will need to be addressed. More than likely, ankle control exercises, strengthening exercises, and return to sport activities to make sure your child is physically fit to return to sport after a few weeks of not training and playing their sport.
