How is anxiety diagnosed in children?

My 12 year old son seems to suffer from mild anxiety from school. I want to know how is anxiety diagnosed in children?

The main criteria include feelings of stress and anxiety which interfere with the child's life. Typically symptoms also include body pains and aches, inability to sleep, fatigue. I hope this helps.
