How long can a child be under general anesthesia?

My child is 7 years old. He will have surgery under general anesthesia. How long can a child be under general anesthesia?

Until you finish all your chores.
Your child, if given general anesthesia, will be kept asleep for the entire operation and woken up after surgery is completed. This should be no different from adult anesthetics.
Until surgery is ended.
