How long do dental inlays last?

I'm going to have dental inlays on three of my teeth. Are they meant to last a long time? I'm 37 years old.

If done right they last decades.
Any dental restoration if done by a good dentist will fail without proper oral hygiene at home and regular checkups by your dentist. The better you take care of your teeth the longer your inlays will last.
Dental Inlays when done appropriately usually last about the same time as would a dental crown. I would safely say that it should last you a minimum of 5 years and with proper oral hygiene and care it may even last for up to 25 years.
Yes.
Your dental inlays can last a long time. You take care of these inlays like you take care of your teeth. Flossing and brushing your teeth will keep your mouth and those inlays healthy. If you need to review how how to take care of your mouth ask your dentist and hygienist. That's the best gift you can give yourself.
