How long does dental implant surgery take?

I am a 37 year old female. I will have dental implant surgery. How long does dental implant surgery take?

That can really vary depending what location the implant is at in your mouth. Typically, a lower implant in the front of your mouth is much easier to access and see as opposed to an upper implant way in the back. It is also usually faster if the Dr is using a surgical guide or not. Using a surgical guide tends to speed up the process. I have had some take as little as 15 min on the lowe front- once the patient is numb. I have also had some take up to an hour and a half if bone grafting into the maxillary sinus is necessary.
Dental implants if planned correctly is a fast and routine procedure. Shouldn't take longer then 30 minutes if routine.
It depends on several factors, such as how many implants you are getting, complicated vs simple case, need for extra bone grafting, sinus lift, difficult position, size of implant used, etc. On average, a simple single, uneventful implant procedure takes less than an hour.
30 minutes.
Hello,

Dental implant surgery can involve a variety of different procedures, from simply having an implant put in to having multiple implants put in, or an extraction of a tooth followed by an implant, or a bone graft with the implant. For the placement of one implant without an extraction of a tooth or bone graft a patient is usually scheduled for 1 hour. Most of this time will be used for paper work and local anesthesia (getting numb). It is likely that it will only take 40 minutes or so. If more needs to be done the patient will be scheduled for 1 hour to an hour and a half.
Hope this helps.

My best to you!
