Max2-3 hours
The time depends upon which anesthesia agent is chosen which is determined by the length of the procedure and the positioning of your body that this requires. The appropriate agent will be used by the Anesthesiologist and this can always be discussed pre op with the surgical team and the Anesthesiologist.
It may last anywhere from 2.5–6hrs depending on the type of local anesthetic that was used.

It can be short, about an hour, or longer, up to a couple hours, depending on the medication used. Medication can also be continuously given for longer procedures if needed.

From Christopher Creighton
It can be variable depending on the doses and types of medications. Your doctor will administer a dose and type of medication to allow for ample time to cover the expected duration of the surgery.
Usually, about a couple of hours.
The drug most commonly used for spinal anesthesia is 0.75% bupivacaine. A typical dose lasts anywhere from 2 1/2 to 4 hours. A larger dose may last up to 6 hours.
Depends on what drugs are used for the spinal injection. A surgical spinal anesthetic can last from 20 minutes to 3 hours. A spinal injection for surgery involves complete relaxation of the muscles below the level of the spinal.
However, spinal injections just for pain relief can last much longer.
In the past, we used xylocaine as anesthetic in spinal blocks and least 1 or 2 hours. Now we use bupicavaine that is long-acting, as in 3 to 4 hours.
