How long should my child go to her pediatric dentist?

My daughter is 15 years old, and I'm beginning to think she's a little too old to go to her child dentist. I'm considering taking her to mine, especially since she has all of her adult teeth. Should I make the switch for her to go to an adult dentist?

You can take your child to your dentist as soon as he has all his adult teeth.
As long as she feels comfortable she can go to a pediatric dentist. Pediatric dentists will see kids to the age of 18-21 depending on the Dentist.
Pediatric dentists treat children and adolescent patients. If your adolescent child feels uncomfortable in the office then you could consider evolving to a general dentist. Does your daughter still go to her pediatrician? We have many patients that still come to us because they are comfortable and confident well into their early college years but once they are no longer comfortable....it is time to move on.
That decision is up to you. Most pediatric dentist accept children until the age of 18. A lot of children are young adults have been going to their peds dentist since age 1 and want to stay with them for as long as they can. That decision is up to you and your daughter. If she is ready to take the next step, by all means. Some peds dentist refer their patients as soon as they get all of their adult teeth.
