It depends on what was done. For a minor oral surgery procedure you typically can keep the gauze in your mouth for a few hours, to make sure the blood clots and you are not bleeding excessively. If you are still oozing after this point in time, change out the gauze with fresh, clean gauze and reapply. Contact your dental office for more detailed instructions.
Keep the gauze in until the hemorrhage stops. Also, do not hesitate to maintain position because it holds the clot in position and allows the socket to heal.
You need to keep the gauze in for about an hour. If it gets saturated with blood, take some new gauze, make sure to wet it slightly with water, and replace the old gauze. Keep pressure on the cause, if at all possible. Persistent “oozing” is normal, but all should be calmed down and fine within a day.

15 to 20 minutes under pressure. No rinsing or brushing for 24 hours.
Great question. I recommend leaving the gauze for about 30-45 minutes and then look to see if the bleeding has stopped.
Thank you.
Leave the gauze in for about 30-45 minutes and then evaluate the area.
Bleeding should stop after one hour of pressure on the extraction site with gauze after one hour.  If not, repeat one hour at a time with new gauze until stopped.

Usually 30 minutes to an hour.
We advise to keep the gauze packing for 45 min. At that time take the gauze out. You will have oozing for 24- 72 hours. If, it is bright red it is likely actively bleeding. Place more gauze or a tea bag and put pressure on the extraction site for 30 minutes. Put, an ibe pack on the outside of your face every 20 minutes.
You can remove the gauze 20- 30 mins after a tooth pulled
