Family Practitioner Questions Water

How much water should I drink throughout the day?

Hi, I'm 25 years old and I currently drink at least 2 liters of water every day. Do you think that this is enough? What's recommended?

While some experts feel one only need to drink when thirsty, studies show you are likely dehydrated by then. On average, you should drink half of your weight (in kilograms) daily. If you engage in vigorous exercise, you will need additional water. Likewise, if you have medical conditions such as heart or kidney disease, you should talk to your doctor as you may have a limit as to how much they recommend you drink each day.
