Pediatrics Questions Annual Physical Examination

How often should my son have his physical exam?

My son's 13 years old, and he also plays sports at his school. Soccer in the fall, basketball in the winter, baseball in the spring. Right now, he gets his physical exam from his pediatrician once a year. But, if he's playing sports so frequently, should he be getting his physical more often? Thank you.

A general physical exam yearly should be sufficient.
If there is no change in activity or illness present, once a year is usually enough. The coach will require a physical yearly but it can be used for all the sports
