It can start as first treatment if you receive treatment to stomach or abdomen (nausea). Skin reaction usually in second of third week
Radiation therapy is given in small doses once per day over 6 to 9 weeks so that normal tissue can tolerate larger total doses. Side-effects usually take two to three weeks to begin, but then linger for two to three weeks after treatment is finished. The one exception is abdominal radiation therapy, that will cause nausea even on the first day.
