You need to visit your health care professional (including your chiropractor) to evaluate your condition and make appropriate recommendations. Make sure whoever you see will take a detailed history and perform a comprehensive examination that includes not only your knees, but your hips, ankles, feet, low back. Only then can appropriate treatment recommendations be made. The recommendations may include diet and lifestyle alterations.
I would highly suggest seeing a chiropractor, and by having diagnostic imaging done we can properly diagnose what could cause this stiffness in the joint depending on the cause of the pain we can properly do rehabilitation and physical therapy on the joint which is causing you pain
Healthy knees are dependent on healthy hips and ankles. I recommend going to see a Chiropractor who utilizes extremity adjustments or a Sports Chiropractor to give you a full assessment to identify the cause of stiffness.
Usually stiff knees are usually indicative of age or some arthritic conditons, being over weight and from slips and falls without realizing it. To prevent the stiffness you may want to see a chiropractor as he can check to see if any misaligned vertebrae in your lower back pinching the nerve and causing stiffness of the knees and the chiropractor after assessing you can suggest some exercises such as 3/4 squats, stretching be quadriceps muscle, hamstring muscles that go to the knee. Good exercises would b swimming and walking.
Definitely make an appointment to see a doctor to have further evaluation.
Have them X-rayed to see if there's any problems
The answer would be dependent on what is causing the stiffness. If this has been persisting for more than a couple months I would typically recommend x-rays to determine if there is arthritis or other degenerative changes.
You should see your Chiropractor

The stiffness can be caused by many things: bone misalignment in the extremities or spine, insufficient nutrients such as essential fatty acids, magnesium, or water. You may have begun a medication and this is a side effect. I would have you see a local doctor of chiropractics and get it checked out.
