Pathologist Questions Blood Tests

If I call my pathologist for my results, will I get them right away?

I had my blood test three days ago, and I'm so anxious about my results. Would it be okay if I called my pathologist and asked for them? I need to know if they're bad or not. This was to test for diabetes.

Most of the time, the pathologist is the one who call the dr. who order the tests and most of the time, they call when there is an anomaly that needs to be reported immediately. Now, you can call the laboratory and they can help you. Now, results time is around, 24 – 48 hours after the specimen have been received in the laboratory. Sometimes take longer due to findings that needs additional tests. Be patient, you want the most accurate results. Thank you.
Depends on what type of test you had done. Check with your doctor's office first and see if the tests are ready there. If not, check with the pathology office to see what the status is. If they are ready and your doctor says he doesn't have them yet, I would suggest going to medical records and sign a release to get your results. This seems to work best if the pathologist works inside a hospital. It is best to discuss the results with your doctor since they know you better than the pathologist. However, if you have specific questions that you feel the pathologist can only answer or you don't think you are getting good information from your doctor, most pathologists would be happy to speak with you.
Good luck.
