Doctor Questions Kidney Infections

Is incontinence normal after treatment for a kidney infection?

My daughter did not complain about the pain associated with a kidney infection until it was too late. We had to go to urgent care, and then to a hospital where she was immediately given antibiotics and fluids because she was just so weak. It was a scary experience. But now that she's done with the treatment, she's still having issues with incontinence. Is this normal for it to continue after her treatment from the infection?

How old is your child? If they have not been potty trained long they may have some problems after being in the hospital on IVF. But if they are older, most children can hold the urine after the UTI is treated. Make sure she doesn't have yeast infection or bladder spasms causing the incontinence and make sure the UTI is fully treated.
