Allergy and Immunology Specialist Questions Jaundice

How should I increase my child's immunity after jaundice?

My son had jaundice just after he was born. Now, he's 7, and since then he has been falling sick quite often. Is there anything that I can do to boost his immunity?

The good news is neonatal jaundice does not “cause” problems with immunity overall. There are a variety of reasons an infant may have jaundice, and without discussing your case, I would not be able to take a guess. However, if your school age child gets sick a lot now, discuss with your pediatrician whether immunology testing or referral to an allergy/immunology specialist would be right for your child. Great question!
I don’t believe his jaundice after he was born has anything to do with current health status especially if the jaundice resolved without any issues.
Having said that, if your child has recurrent infections it will be worthwhile addressing your concerns with his physician to run the appropriate tests.
I am a believer in healthy well balanced diet, healthy sleep habits and staying active to lead healthy life style and hopefully avoid illnesses!

The jaundice after birth has nothing to do with his immunity. You can wash his hands often and give a multivitamin with extra vitamin C.
You can give him a multivitamin. Also, apple cider vinegar and honey mixture helps to boost immunity.
