Does frequent urination in pregnancy increase the risk of a urinary infection?

I am 7 months pregnant and due to my heavy pregnancy I feel the urge to urinate often. Could this put me at a high risk of a urinary infection or is it normal?

With pregnancy, it is normal that the capacity of the bladder will be smaller due to compression of the enlarged uterus. Frequent urination in this case is normal.
The good news is this is an easy answer: no it does not increase the risk.

It is pretty normal to feel bladder pressure while pregnant. The baby puts pressure on the bladder, which gives you the sensation to urinate. Just make sure your OBGYN is checking your urine to rule out infection.
Urinary urgency and frequency in pregnancy is very common because of the pressure that the uterus puts on the bladder. It does not increase the risk of urinary tract infection.
Frequent urination is fairly common and luckily not a sign of uti. More likely a sign of a 5lb baby jumping up and down on your bladder.
