My 4 year old son says his urine is always clear. Is this normal? Is clear urine normal for a child?

Overall, urine is clear and light yellow In color. Yellow color of urine is lighter when urine is dilute and darker when concentrated such as an overnight water restriction. If your son is urinating a lot and also thirsty, please check with your pediatrician to make sure he does not have any other problem like DI.

If he drinks a lot, it could be normal to have a clear urine. If not, it could be a concentrating defect, meaning that his kidneys are not capable of concentrating the urine.
