Is endovenous laser ablation safe?

I want to get endovenous laser ablation for my varicose veins on my legs. But, I just want to know, is this generally a safe procedure?

Very safe in the right hands. The key is the procedure the right one for you based on signs, symptoms and ultrasound findings
Yes, it is a safe procedure. Besides laser, varicose veins can be closed with radio frequency energy, foam sclerotherapy, or even "glued" shut (Cyanoacrylate glue). The most important thing is to find the most experienced Vein Doctor you can find. What's used to close it is less important. Good luck.
In the proper hands, this is a very safe and effective procedure. As with anything that goes through the skin, risks include bleeding and infection. The intention is to destroy the veins treated, however, there is sometimes injury to the surrounding soft tissues. Skin burns and nerve injury is possible. One should expect swelling and bruising lasting over a week after the procedure. Wearing compression hose helps. You should also be advised to walk 1/2 hour/day after the procedure.
