Naturopathic medicine incorporates in many healing modalities. Depending on the condition lifestyle medicine (nutrition, movement, and stress management) can be incorporated in to a more thorough plan.
Awesome naturopathic medicine is awesome for all ages of life!
Naturopath's philosophy and what sets them apart from other physicians is that they are trained, skilled, and focused on finding and treating the root causes. Depending on your medical history will dictate your treatment plan, and it will be a personalized treatment plan. In general, many naturopaths incorporate diet and lifestyle changes into treatment plans as this is often the foundation of health. Your doctor will of course never give you anything that is too much and will always work with you as you go through your health journey.
Hello,
Exercise is one of many lifestyle-related options that may be recommended by a naturopathic doctor. Whether or not it is, and what type/ specific details depends on what you're seeking help for and what you're already doing or not doing.
Generally speaking, getting regular movement (even just walking or stretching) is an important part of reaching and keeping good health for many reasons. Same with drinking enough water, which is also a common topic discussed at a naturopathic visit.
Moving the body should be a part of all medicine. As a Naturopath, I do incorporate it into my plans when needed.
Yes
The body is key and integral to our well-being. I don't call it to exercise, I call it Movement. Whatever moves you, yes! We are designed to move and move we do! I offer counsel with regard to the appropriate movement for the person and our center also offers classes in dance, movement improv, and yoga; as well as Mindfulness meditation and Stress management. Hope to see you. Dr. Jenn
Not all ND's specialize in exercise modalities. You may want to seek out an ND that specializes in Sports Medicine. Best of Luck.
Naturopathic medicine care plans encompass the entire body. Exercise, diet, gut health, mental health and much more are all incorporated.
Most Naturopaths provide support for whole body healing which should include some form movement (exercise) within the protocol
It will depend on the practitioner's training but many naturopathic doctors receive training in manual techniques.
Yes, I highly recommended physical activity, diet, and lifestyle changes to improve overall health.

The word "Exercise" can sometimes be taken to the extremes. Increasing one's physical activities can be beneficial enough with the progression towards, say, the structured exercise programs. Altering your diet increasing your fruit and veggie consumption while increasing your physical activities is a wonderful start. Physical fitness is more of a state of your active performance; while health is a state of your being.
Exercise is always advised, it is important to stay healthy and active.
Yes.
Hello! Exercise is a fundamental part of health, and a Naturopathic Doctor will most likely incorporate exercise into your treatment plans. This will not usually consist of planned routines for you to do, but more of recommendation of type and length of exercise that is appropriate for your condition and health level.
Always. Walk 20 -30 min a day, 3 days a week as a minimum
