Hello, the usual pain associated with face lift is usually minimal headaches. The discomfort is more the result of the head bandages and possible drains which are usually removed after two days. For further inquiries or questions, you may want to visit my website at DrRoyamd@aol.com. Good Luck!!!!
Typically, facial aesthetic procedures are painful for 1-2 days. Most patients rate that pain as a 3/10.
Facial plastic surgery in general is not very painful. However, there are many procedures that fall under the umbrella of facial plastic surgery and some of them can be more painful than others. For example, a nose job that requires hump reduction can be more uncomfortable than a blepharoplasty procedure.
Cosmetic facial plastic surgery is not as painful as many other cosmetic procedures and, because of swelling, creates more discomfort than actual pain. However, either of these issues are well controlled with medications.
Good luck.
Pain, like beauty, depends on who is judging. Facial plastic surgery in general is not regarded as a painful process. Most facelift patients, for example, have relatively little pain postoperatively. When I do a full facelift combined with a laser or chemical smoothing of the skin around the mouth, patients often tell me that the lesser procedure hurt more than than the major work. If your surgeon is experienced, he or she will will insure that you are as comfortable as possible after surgery. No surgeon wants their patients telling others that the operation was very painful. This is not the way to gain word of mouth referrals.
For the most part, surgical procedures on the skin and soft tissues of the face are not very painful. However, any procedure that involves fracturing of bone (rhinoplasty, jaw surgery for example) can be painful. I would ask your board certified plastic surgeon that question with regard to the specific procedure you are considering.
There can be minimal discomfort from most procedures as long as adequate anesthesia has been administered. Obviously, the amount of post-op pain can vary from one individual to another. The location and type of procedure are also major factors regarding pain. Fear of the unknown can also make things worse for some patients, so adequate pre-op counseling can really help.
Not in general. Surprisingly my facelift patients or eyelid lift patients do not take any after the surgery. However if you wants several things done at the same time, it would be better to do it under general anesthesia so you don't feel any pain during or after. That's how I do it.
No
Please always consult with a trained professional to discuss your surgical needs and question. But, most Facial Plastic Surgery procedures, requires general anesthesia so you won't feel any pain during the procedure. However, as with any surgical procedure, you can expect some discomfort. Usually, the postoperative pain is mild but it can also vary by patient, but
medication is given after the surgery to help with the alleviation of pain.
Usually not. If briefly painful, it can be controlled. I suggest you see a competent board certified plastic surgeon.
With the proper anesthetic combinations, facial plastic surgery is generally not uncomfortable. Some soreness should be expected.
In general most facial procedures are not excessively painful. Obviously it varies from person to person, but most of my patients do well and don’t require a lot of pain medication.
