Ophthalmologist Questions Ophthalmologist

Is it normal for children to see spots?

My 11 year old son sees spots sometimes. Is this normal? Should I bring him to an eye doctor?

This is most likely benign; however having a dilated examination may be a good idea if the problem worsens and becomes visually significant.
Take him to a pediatric ophthmologist if you have one nearby otherwise a comprehensive ophthalmologist.
All children should have a yearly eye exam, but a child who sees spots should be evaluated by an ophthalmologist. This symptom is often benign after a viral illness, it is best however to have your child evaluated.
This depends on what kind of spots the child sees and what eye conditions they have. In general, this is not normal and may be indicative of high eye or brain fluid pressure. I would recommend a full exam with an ophthalmologist, pediatrician, etc., soon.
Yes it's not normal. Please see your doctor.
