Is it normal to have discharge while pregnant?

I am a 24 year old female. I want to know if it is normal to have discharge while pregnant?

Generally, yes. Your pregnancy is technically a foreign body and your body attempts to mount an immunologic response against it. This response is characterized by discharge. However, some types of discharge are not normal. Therefore, you should tell your doctor about the discharge so that s/he can determine whether the discharge is normal or abnormal.
It is normal in most cases and caused by hormonal changes. If there is any odor or itching/burning it may be caused by something else and should be checked by a provider.
Yes, it is very normal to have increased vaginal discharge during pregnancy, as long as there is no associated bleeding, excessive drainage (which may indicate ruptured membranes), or other signs or symptoms concerning for infection such as a foul odor, green/yellow/brown discharge, or vaginal irritation.

Hello,

It is definitely normal to have excess discharge while pregnant. I always tell my patients to expect to change a few pads a day due to discharge.
I hope that this helps.
