Is it okay to swallow blood after a tooth extraction?

I am a 23 year old male. After my tooth extraction I swallowed a little blood. Will I be ok?

Hello,

Sorry to hear about your tooth extraction. Yes, it is okay if you swallowed a little blood after the extraction (provided it is your own blood). This does happen to a number of people during extractions depending on where the tooth is and how much they feel the need to swallow. Everything you swallow goes to your digestive system and the blood will be broken down there. Hope this helps.

It should be. Make sure gauze's applied until it stops.

Hi.

You should swallow blood after EXT. Don't spit it out.
