Is jaw surgery painful to recover from?

I am a 26 year old female. I want to know if jaw surgery is painful to recover from?

1 Answer

After any surgery you will expect some level of pain, therefore, the surgeon always prescribes pain medications to control the pain post op. However, the pain level is depending on the type of surgery, the pain you experience from a knife cut is more than from shaving cut, and also depending on the pain threshold of each individual patient, same surgery some may feel more pain than others. If you are compliance with the surgeon’s post op instructions then your recovery will be uneventful unless some there is some complications.
