“Is sudden heavy menstrual flow a sign that something is wrong?”
I've never had a heavy flow before, but these past few periods, I've been experiencing a heavy flow alongside painful cramps while on my period (first 4 days). Does this mean that something is wrong?

Most time excessive menstrual flow is a concern and may mean physiologic changes, or structural changes within the uterus such as fibroids. Report this to your Doc and will be looked into.
This could be a couple of heavy menstrual cycles. This could be a thyroid problem or a uterus problem, or a hormonal problem. Since it's been a few cycles, you should probably go get evaluated.
