Dermatologist Questions Liver patches

What causes liver patches in teens and how is it treated?

My nephew has developed patches on his liver and he's only 17. How are these liver patches caused? How is it treated?

Do you mean liver spits on the skin or patches on the liver? If it is on the skin, there could be several causes. Sunburns in light skin can cause brown spots to develop, especially a blistering burn. Another cause can be a superficial fungal infection known as tinea versicolor. These can be brown, scaly patches.
